The existing manor house on the estate is a building of the 14th and 15th centuries, remaining however some features of earlier periods.

The estates reputation is directly associated with the rare fact its vines are grown on schistous soils. This combined with the moderate climate of the Serra do Marão, enables the Quinta to produce a white wine of a unique character among Portugal’s white wines.
